Primary pages are the core of a site, to wit, the home, FAQ, site map, about us, contact us and service or product pages. Information pages are additional pages that support the primary pages, explain your service or product and answer questions. Primary pages convert visitors while information pages generate traffic.

Main Web Pages

Preparing content for your primary pages must be done carefully. You should have a list of keywords you want to highlight for each page. Using these keywords, content should be written clearly and concisely. Do not sacrifice the flow of your text in an effort to maximize the placement of keywords. While this common mistake can lead to quicker search engine rankings, it can damage your conversion rates and give visitors the wrong impression of your business. Traffic is useless if it can’t be converted to money. Focus on converting the visitor into a customer.

Information Pages

Information pages serve a number of functions, but first, they explain and support your primary pages. Second, they build credibility by providing evidence of your extensive knowledge and expertise.

Information pages also form a critical platform for promoting your site. The pages should be written in such a way as to be easily converted into articles. The articles should be submitted to directories for publication with a byline including a link to your site. As the articles are published, the byline will dramatically increase the link count of your site. The higher the number of links to your site, the higher you move in the rankings.

Headings or Subject Areas of Website

There are three idea generating methods to come up with the important information pages.

The first step is to review your product or service. Pages should be created providing explanations for the most simple to complex elements of whatever you are promoting. As you site gains links, the various information pages will move up into top rankings. If you have 50 information pages each producing 100 clicks a month, they will produce 5,000 free clicks a month. Assume a conversion rate of 1/100 and you have 50 sales
Finally, forums are an excellent place to find topics. Forums are sites where people gather to discuss issues related to a particular subject.Each question is a potential topic for a page on your site. Make sure to focus on posts with lots of replies, as the number of replies reflects the amount of interest in the topic.

- Conduct a feasibility study of your business idea.

Get your financing in place.
There are many ways to finance your business, from your own
savings to personal credit cards to bank loans. If you need credit,
know your business plan from front to back and maybe even
sideways.

Decide what kind of structure your company will have.
From a legal standpoint, there are three basic choices, sole
proprietorship, partnership and incorporation, each with
advantages and disadvantages.

- Choose a name for your company and check on name
availability.
Naming your company is highly individual, but it’s the first thing
associated with your business, so choose your name carefully.
You'll need to do a NUANS (Newly Upgraded Automated Name
Search) report, which checks your name choices for uniqueness
against a database of other business names. A reserved name is
valid for 90 days.

- Determine whether there are special permits or licenses that
your business will need. Check with county court house or your
local tax collectors office for the proper forms.

track of your finances better. Record-keeping is required, and can

be done manually or with a computer program.



- Purchase insurance.

insurance.



- Decide where your business will be located.



Lease your business’ space. Alternatively, you could choose to

start your business from home if it’s feasible. There are

advantages and disadvantages to starting your business from

home. You have tax write-offs for example, but sometimes your

image suffers.



- Purchase supplies and office equipment. You'll need too many

things to list here, and of course, each business has different

needs. You might need a fax machine and printer. You'll probably

need a computer. You'll definitely need paper, pens, pencils and a

calculator.

Don't Make These Bonehead Mistakes Dummies Made Marketing Online


If you are starting out marketing online with articles or you just do not want to make the same mistakes others have and save all kinds of money then you need to follow some basic principles.

Dummies don't read the article directory's specific terms of service and guidelines. This may seem like a boring, tedious and long winded waste of your valuable time but in the long term it will save you hours of frustration and wasted effort. All directories set their own rules and some are stricter than others. Most directories labor under a huge number of submissions and the work of sifting through them is often the job of one individual.

Dummies  submit mass amounts of articles at the same time. It should come as no surprise to those submitting large numbers of articles in a 24 hour period to find that they are all deleted. 1. Dummies don't state on their website what they do or what they sell. Duh. Making it a complete mystery why you decided to build your website in the first place is like saying I bet you can't guess what this website is about. It's like a secret club -- your visitors are left in the dark. Have you been to sites like this where you show up and think "What the heck is this site about?" If you're not presenting a clear statement about why your visitors should spend their money (or at least come back again), then you're on your way to hermit-land.

2. Dummies overwhelm visitors with lots of information. Almost as bad as the "What the heck is this site about?" problem is the "Oh my Goodness! Oh my Gracious!" sites. As a visitor, you know the busy sites I'm talking about. The page opens and your jaw drops. There is a sea of banners, with links everywhere and articles galore. Where do you go? What do you do? I'll tell you what I do. Click the little "x' in the upper right-hand corner to get the heck outta there!

3. Don't be an idiot either and just make the ordering process complicated. There's nothing I love more than putting items into my shopping cart and then spending 20 minutes trying to figure out how to set up an account and pay. Guess what? I sure don't click the 'contact us' button. I click the "x" instead. You've succeeded in getting rid of yet another pesky customer who wanted to spend money.

4. Real dummiees fill your site with outdated information and broken links. Pfshew. You dodged a visitor with that one. They clicked on a link that was broken -- and off they went.

5. Not leaving any way to be contacted by email or even a toll free phone number pretty much assures that interested customers ready to buy won't be talking to you , wow you can be a dummy too. Heaven forbid, you might get some spam if you have your contact information on your site.
