Using ClickBank To Find Winning Product Ideas Part 1

ClickBank is the biggest online marketplace for digital products on the entire internet.  As I’m sure you’re aware, digital products and products that are instantly available after payment are extremely popular.

People want information and they want it fast (as in instantly) so ClickBank is serving a very rabid market that has money to spend and loves spending it.

The good thing about this is that you can find product ideas that are already successful and create one that’s similar.  This means you can create product without any market research, any testing or without an chance of failure.

The product is already selling and selling well on ClickBank so you can ride that into your own highly successful product!

So how do we find products on ClickBank that we can use as ideas to create products without all the usual hassles that go with product research and development?

Simple…

First, go to the following webpage in your favorite web browser…

http://www.clickbank.com
After the page loads, click the “Buy Products” tab at the top of the page.

Now you want to select the type of product that you are looking to create from the Category drop down menu.  There is also a sub-category drop down menu that may offer additional categories that are more closely defined to niche markets that may contain a category or subject that you are looking for so use this is you see something of interest.

If you have a more specific  type of product in mind rather than the broad categories that they have you can also use the “Keyword” search box to enter a word or phrase that is more targeted to the product or offering that you have in mind.

Next click the “Go” button and you will be presented with a list of products that matches your criteria.

These listings are ranked in the order of how good they sell.  So if you see a listing at the top of a page that means that is the number one selling product in the criteria that you selected.

If you find that you don’t get the type of product that you are looking for in those listings try scaling down the criteria that you have entered.  For example if you enter “eBay money easy” in the keyword box, try scaling that down to just the word eBay because this will still bring you a bunch of eBay related books that may spark your interest.

Now that you have a listing of proven, best selling products that match or closely match the criteria that you are looking for, it’s time that you take that information and leverage it to your full advantage!

Before we get to that I want to point out that using this tactic is extremely effective and will save you hundreds of hours in testing and research work and save you thousands in research and testing expenses.  Until now you’ve had to come up with an idea, create the product and test it to the market to see if it sells.

By setting up a business plan, you are road mapping your way to success. It will help you to develop your business goals and strategies, as well as providing you with a better understanding of the marketplace. It will also highlight any business strengths or weaknesses that you may have, as well as providing you with an opportunity to take a close look at your competitors. If you want, you can also include financial projections, historical data and growth expectations into your business plan.

With any good business plan, it should show who the target audience is, and just how the product or service that is being provided will meet or exceed their needs and expectations.

When organizing a business plan it is best if you break it down into sections such as:-

1. Business summary – The product or service you want to provide.

1. Market analysis – Research on the product or service and how the competitors are doing.

1. Product positioning – How to make it more prominent compared to your competitors.

1. Market strategy – How are you actually going to market it?

1. Customer analysis – Look at what the customer wants or needs.

1. Financial analysis – What you need to invest in order to set up the business and to keep it going while it is just getting started.

1. Overall business goals – What you hope to achieve in, say, a year’s time.

But what is more important is that once a business plan has been developed, it should not lay in the back of a drawer somewhere. It should be a working plan that you can refer to when you need to.

The best way to make a business plan is to keep it simple (one or two pages should be all you need).

Certainly one of the best things you can do when starting an online business is to create a plan then stick with it.

Google Adsense, Is It Right For Me?

Undoubtedly, you've heard about Google's AdSense and you are thinking about giving it a go. But is it really worth placing an AdSense banner on your site?

The answer is a definite yes. You could always have some other banner on your site, or even use some search of affiliate ad program and that would probably make you some money, given of course that your site enjoys a healthy amount of visitors. However with affiliate marketing, it is expected that the visitor from your website completes a sale before you are remunerated.

But that's nowhere near what you get for using AdSense. There are people who earn in excess of 100.000 dollars per year by using AdSense. And it doesn't just stop with making more money. Firstly, the ads are text only. That means they're by far less obtrusive on your visitors then your average, flashy banner that's designed to catch the eye of the visitor.

Sure, you'll have to ensure they get better placement, so as to be noticed but despite that they don't bother viewer’s as much as traditional ads. Think about the many sites you've seen using pop-ups, floating banners and many other schemes that will have visitors screaming in anger every time they visit the said website. You can actually do better then that, annoying people less and still making an amount of money.

Secondly, the ads are generated based on the contents of your site automatically. When you use an affiliate ad program, you have to specify certain categories that your sites belong to.

However, if any page on your site falls outside of these categories, the banners aren't targeted anymore. And what that means is that you're potentially showing ads to people who don't have any interest in them and that can lead to inefficiencies.

With Google AdSense that just about never happens: the ads present on your site will always be in sync with whatever your visitors are interested in and that adds to your site's value and to the revenue it produces.

What's more, the look of these banners and their size is customizable, which means they will feel more integrated with the rest of your site's content, which brings an increase in your site's overall visual quality as opposed to a traditional approach.

For many people, there's also a great problem with finding people to advertise on their site as well. AdSense is clearly the easiest solution available to this problem today.

It's free to join the AdSense program and it almost takes no time at all. The potential database of websites from AdWords is larger then anything you might encounter from any competitor, numbering over 150.000 users. This means as more people compete the CPC or cost per click for search terms will inevitably rise. 

Also, setting up AdSense on your site is a breeze, and you can complete the whole process in less then an hour. It takes a lot less to do then any form of affiliate advertising which is yet another reason to choose the easy AdSense approach.

All you need to do is add an AdSense banner on your website (other then registering with the program of course) is to copy & paste a few lines and you're all done, you get to choose where the banners go, how large they are and how they integrate with the rest of your site.

For any webmaster out there, that's a killer scheme because it lets you draw the line between your site's usability level and the amount of advertising you wish to have. Some people need the money badly while others just keep AdSense running to pay for the hosting of their website.

AdSense is a great advertising program because a lot of thought has went into making it "just work for everyone". It works great for the people who use AdWords, for the webmasters using AdSense, and most importantly for the visitors of the websites.

- Don’t blind people: Brilliant colors may attract people, but on a website, a neon yellow background is just going to make people hit the “Back” button. There’s nothing that turns visitors off more than an unappealing color scheme. It sounds very minor, but it’s true! If they can’t read your red text on a pink background, you need to rethink your design.
- Don’t be cluttered: Sure, you may need to cram a lot of information onto the website, but that doesn’t mean you can or should throw everything on there. Choose only what is most relevant for the home page. Make sure search queries produce a reasonable amount of results. A page of 200 results may not be the best choice. Again, people don’t like to have to scroll very far to find the answers to their questions. Plus, scanning a page that’s cluttered can be discouraging and make visitors go elsewhere to find the information they need.
- Use a readable font: Don’t use anything that has curly-cues or looks like Old English script. Rather, use a standard font that is easy to read such as Times New Roman, Arial, Courier or Helvetica. You want to use a font that is both easy on the eyes and compatible with all web browsers. Using a fancy font may look nice on your computer, but it can be thrown all out of whack when viewed on a different computer. Don’t alienate your visitors.
- Keep it simple: There’s nothing that turns a visitor off more than a website that takes too long to load or requires a bunch of additional software or plug-ins to run. If your fancy site intro won’t load or your visitor needs to download a plug-in to view it, most visitors won’t take the time to wait. Make sure your design, layout and navigation are all simple and easy to use and don’t require any special functions.

Secondly you will likely produce higher quality products and services if you are marketing a niche you enjoy because you have more intrinsic knowledge of the needs of your customers. Can You Profit Without Finding Your Niche?

Those who are involved in Internet marketing may find that it is possible to profit without focusing on specific niches but in many cases this is not an easy task. Another form of promoting a website is by interspersing website links with insightful comments on industry forums. Inbound links are yet another form of niche website promotion. This form of self promotion has the added benefit of contributing to one of the other forms of promotion by resulting in higher search engine rankings. This article will examine these three methods of promoting a niche website.

Using High Search Engine Rankings to Promote a Niche Website

Optimizing a niche website for particular keywords can be one method of promoting the website. Careful optimization can result in high search engine rankings which act as a form of free publicity. Internet users rely on search engines to provide them with the most relevant content for the search terms they use. Therefore, if your website ranks well in search engines your traffic will likely increase.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is serious business which is often best left to the professionals. Many savvy Internet marketers realize the importance of search engine rankings and are willing to invest in having their websites professionally optimized. Although this is an added expense it is worthwhile especially when you are fighting for rankings and an audience in a very competitive niche.

Promoting Websites through Industry Forums

Forums or message boards are online communities where like minded individuals or those who share a common interest come together to discuss the issues related to their common interest. Participation in these forums is one way website owners can promote their own niche websites. The key to promoting a website while participating in an online forum is to include a link to your niche website in your signature. The other part of the equation is contributing worthwhile information in your posts to give other users a reason to want to click on your links.

Care should be taken to avoid spamming these message boards with your link. Examples would include posting often without adding anything relevant to the conversation and including your link. Other forms of spam may include posting your link in a manner which is perceived as inappropriate by other users. Using Inbound Links to Promote Niche Websites

Inbound links are another method of promoting a niche website. An inbound link is a link from one website which directs visitors to another website. Inbound links can be either reciprocal or non-reciprocal in nature. A reciprocal inbound link is one where one website posts a link to another website and in return the other website posts a link back to the first website. Both types of links are looked on favorably by search engines although non-reciprocal links are often given a slight advantage.

These inbound links can be an effective component of a strategy to promote a niche website. Visitors to websites who provide a link to your website are given the opportunity to enter your website. We have already discussed how search engine rankings can be part of website promotion but inbound links essentially rely on the popularity and high search engine rankings of other websites to promote their own niche website.

In negotiating deals for inbound links, website owners should look for other websites which complement their own website and have a similar audience. For example a website selling novelty basketballs might look for websites which sell basketball hoops. Caution should also be used to avoid link farms which do not offer significantly promotional value to a niche website. A link farm is a website which offers nothing more than a list of links to other websites. While these types of links may not be harmful to a website they are also not likely to be beneficial either.

If you are looking to earn money working from home, Mini Web Sites are a great way to run your own business. Usually these are simple one or two page sites that are designed for selling a single product.

A mini site is basically a sales letter that is designed to convert viewers into buyers, it is not there to provide detailed information about the product. This type of site can attract more viewers, which means more sales and more money for you.

The steps for creating a mini web site are:

- Find a profitable niche.
- Determine the best product to sell for that niche.
- Write a well crafted ad.
- Design a landing page.

Make sure you do not include banners or other advertising, these might distract the attention of your visitors, your only focus should be on selling your product.

Design a Mini Web Site

Each site should sell only one product and be optimized for just that product. Select keywords based on your product, that are popular enough to attract the amount of traffic you will need to make your site profitable, and always use your keywords in the title, heading tags, and graphic alt tags. Create an easy to order form, one that is fast to fill out, you do not want to lose customers because it takes too much time or is too much trouble to purchase your product.

Whatever you sell, start by quickly describing that particular product and keep your focus tight on that product. Try to pre sell your product by including several endorsements from people who are happy about using your product.
