Internet Business Success - Why You Need A Contact List

No List No Money
If you have been considering starting your own Internet business or promoting your off line business online for even a short time, you have undoubtedly heard the phrase, "The Money Is In The List".

To the extent that building a contact list of prospective customers is not the only way to make money online, as your list continues to grow, it can become the primary way you make consistent money online, without having to spend additional time, effort and money.

There are several methods whereby you can sell your products/services through your on or off line business using both on and off line promotion, marketing and advertising methods to increase your sales. However most of these depend on you spending more of your hard earned money and/or time than you will if you have a list of pre-qualified prospects and buyers to solicit when you want to build your customer base with new sales or repeat sales from satisfied customers that are already proven buyers.

Once you have built a substantial contact list, E-mail marketing will become THE best way for you to generate sales online or off line. If you can think of anything easier, (that works as well or better), than the following 3 steps, then I will pay you for your system.

Once you have your e-mail list of prospective and current customers up to the size you are generating at least one additional sale each time you use the following 3 steps, you will never want to stop building and refining your list.

(This assumes you have been trying to build a contact list, you are continuing your pre-fabricated, solution oriented emails going to your list auto-responder email campaign with occasional broadcasts of special interest to your niche without any offers.)

<li>Write an informative e-mail piece for a new product or special promotion you have coming up with appropriate sales copy regarding your product or promotion and load it into your e- mail system (Auto- Responder).</li>

<li>You click "Send" to broadcast the e-mail to all you're people on your contact list.</li>

<li>Your customer's money comes rolling in.</li>
</ol>

That's it! These are the 3 simple steps necessary to generate money on demand. It's like your Auto-Responder becomes an ATM you never have to make a deposit in, but you can always get money out. So is the money really in the list? Maybe section title would be more correctly stated as: No List, No Easy Money!

Hot Trend Project Planning for your business blog or internet based business

Plan your work and work your plan. You have probably heard that phrase a thousand times. But it has never been more true than it will be with setting up this, 'profiting from hot trends', system in such a way that you can implement it quickly and regularly as you find hot trends to capitalize upon.

Yes this system includes the plan to work this system effectively. However I am assuming you are approaching your Internet Marketing business with an overall plan with the primary goal of not just making money or generating revenues, but being profitable at it.

Some people will set down with this information and absorb it all in one day, and have their system up and operational in 2 days. That is what I would call a quick start. DO NOT think you have to do that yourself if you really don't have the time, study habits, computer skills or Internet literacy to become accomplished at using this system in just a few days or even a week.

The advice in this blog assumes that you are managing or approaching your business in a professional manner by having established long term goals, short term goals and are implementing the daily task (As you currently understand them), to attain your goals.

If this assumption is not correct, once you have read this project guide through completely and you believe it may take you more time to set up your system and start using it than I have estimated in my description of a "Quick Start", at least set some short term goals and break them down into the daily tasks it will take to meet your short term goals. That way you stay on track to having your profiting from hot trends system in place in no more than a couple of weeks.

You will need to integrate using this profiting from hot trends system into your Internet Marketing Business Plan so you can spend about 5 to 10 man hours learning and setting up the system and then committing one hour a day for as many or few days you choose to incorporate profiting from hot trends into your regular daily work schedule.

Fun From The Start

For those with the will to start a new business the rewards, both financial and emotional, can be excellent, but the risks can also be significant to both sanity and mortgage. Of course, the chance of success increases if a company has a good, well thought through strategy before they strike out.

Any business has processes with lead-time, and the longer the lead-time from receipt of an order to despatch of goods or services, the more money will be tied up in the business in the form of materials, salaries and overheads. Therefore, one of the earliest things to think about is how you will finance the operation and the key investments you need to make, which in turn requires you to have a detailed breakdown of the processes required to deliver value to your customers, which will allow you to determine the types of assets you will require, both human, financial and technical.

Financing The Beast

Obviously, your financing choices at this point depend very much on both the risk associated with your product (or service) and your own approach to risk. If you are determined to ‘own the assets’ you will need a completely different financing plan from a strategy based on having your products/services managed by a sub-contractor who has already made the investment in equipment, premises and people. Whilst the former strategy will significantly increase the risk of overstretching your finances, the latter has a number of associated risks, not least of which are the selection of the right supplier and ownership of intellectual property as well as possible risks the sub-contractor may pass onto you through the contracting process.

Having said this, unless the risks are very low or you are extremely confident about the minimum sales level (which is a function of the marketing/sales element of your strategy), it is often better to use a sub-contractor to start with as the overall start up costs and time to ‘first despatched sale’ are much reduced. Consider the converse of this in that you ‘own the assets’ and, for most new products, you will need to finance premises, recruit people and purchase materials before realising any revenue from sales.

If you do decide to purchase your own assets, having a good understanding of the sales demand for your product will help determine the amount of capacity required, which in turn will help determine the amount of finance you require for your investment. Because calculations for capacity impact directly on the amount of finance tied up in the business, it is prudent to get some advice on how to increase capacity and decrease lead-time for delivery as this will directly impact on the financing requirements.

Marketing Madness

Your ability to predict demand will depend on whether you are delivering a ‘radical new’ or ‘me too’ service or product, meaning is it an innovative new product on the market (such as the first Sony Walkman) that no-one has seen before or an update of an existing product (such as an improved washing-up liquid).

Obviously, for a product that is an upgrade to an existing product the size, shape and channels to market should be well understood, although your competitors in this market may have created ‘barriers to entry’ through regulation or ownership of some of the channels. However, you should be able to determine how much demand there will be, although your strategy will need to focus on taking market share from your competitors (if the market is not growing) or how you will get customers to ‘switch’ to your product. A subsidiary benefit is that a ‘me too’ product with a well thought through marketing strategy will often get a better reception from financiers.

For a ‘radical new’ product you may find it impossible to find out any information on the size of the market without significant investment (which by the way should have been done before you started developing the product or service). You could consider doing product testing on sample customers to determine their levels of interest, at the risk of losing your intellectual property. Whatever approach you take to determining the reception your product will get from customers, your strategy for marketing must focus on establishing channels to market (ie how will your customers get your product, who are your customers etc). Unless you can clearly show how your product will be put before the customer and how you will create a market for your product, you may get a hostile reception from financiers.

Managing The Customers & Suppliers

Having determined your marketing and financial strategies, and before you visit the financier, you should have thought through how you will establish and manage your value chain, in this case taken to mean your suppliers and customers.

What terms will your suppliers require (or what terms can you get away with) and vice versa for customers. The ideal scenario is that operated by the supermarkets where the suppliers are often paid 90 days after receipt of goods whilst the products are purchased within days and the supermarket then is able to earn interest on both the profits of the sale and the money to pay for the goods for up to 85 days before having to pay to supplier. Suffice to say it is unlikely that you will be able to extract such terms from your value chain and you may actually be on the receiving end of such an agreement, which places a different slant on your financing strategy.

A further consideration in this area are your terms and conditions for sale and purchase and an understanding of contracts and credit rating of customers and suppliers to determine their ability to pay (in the case of a supplier, if they go bankrupt what impact will it have on your business?).

In addition to the legal aspects of managing customers, you should also think heavily about the emotional aspects of customer management, for example how you will handle complaints, warranty claims or even after-sales service. It can be shown that the way that these aspects of business are handled will result in greater customer retention and improved profitability.

Having said everything above, it is worth looking at some of the common problems new businesses encounter in their early years.

Typical Start-Up Issues

One of the biggest problems encountered by new businesses is the time taken from investment to sales (lead-time) and an under-estimation of the financing requirements of this operation.

Significant over estimation of demand is another big problem, especially if this had led to investment in redundant equipment or the purchase of excess materials. Conversely, an under estimation of demand can cause the business to go bust even though it has a full order book as they fall foul of the cash impact of servicing runaway demand. A better strategy in the latter case is to create your own growth strategy by limiting the customers you introduce the product/service to or even raising prices to limit demand.

Selection of people and the adoption of the ‘right’ management style is another cause of problems for new businesses. In the early days the focus is on minimising costs, so you hire people who you can afford by who may not be as skilled as you need and then remain stuck with them when the business takes off. In terms of management style, a new start-up requires a style based on drive, responsiveness and the use of an intuitive management style, whilst growing businesses need to look at their processes and introduce structure to their operations. It is often the case that the management style used for the start-up is still used as the business starts to become established with the resultant effect of stifling progress or even worse, encouraging failure.

Being tied into premises that rapidly become too small, or too large, for the operation is a major problem for small businesses, although with the former problem, looking at the layout of your facility will often release significant amounts of floor-space and may help to ‘put off’ the day when you need to find bigger premises.

Lastly, although there will always be a need for a sense of urgency in starting up a new manufacturing business, trying to do too much, too quickly, will result in over-stretching your finances and your emotions. It is not essential for most businesses to have an IT system installed on day 1, a PC with email and a fax machine is as much technology as the average start-up business needs – so keep cool, stay focused and plan strategically if you want to be wealthy!

Do not Fall For WAHM Home Business scams

If you really want to work at home, you might be tempted by the many ads online and even in newspapers that promise easy work and good money.

It’s hard not to be tempted by these ads and promises. But there are many scams out there, and they can strip you of money, reputation and, at the very least, your confidence.

The most common scam

Yes, this one is still around. You might remember seeing these ads in newspapers years ago, promising “easy money!” for stuffing envelopes. The ads are generally targeted to moms at home, students and retired people. It’s easy to get sucked into the idea that you can make money by stuffing envelopes for businesses, but in reality, you don’t.

You are asked to send money (usually $29.99) and in return, you will get a list if of businesses you might contact to try and get their envelope stuffing business. The reality is that few, if any, companies hire people to stuff their envelopes. And these days, with more and more people relying on online methods to contact potential customers and clients, they need this service even less.

Sometimes people who pay the money will be given information on how to advertise in newspapers and online for people to start an envelope stuffing business. You make $29.99 off these poor people as they contact you for more information.

If you see this offer, or it’s sent to you directly, it’s best to ignore it, no matter how tempting.

How to spot a scam

It’s not easy to spot a scam. If you are desperate to work at home and looking for something that’s already set up for you (in that you don’t have to actually start your own business), you might be tempted by these offers to work at home.

There are several criteria to help you determine if you are dealing with unscrupulous people who are tying to scam you.

First, if an offer promises big pay for easy work, it might be a scam. The reality is that few people can get paid big dollars for easy work and little work. Big pay usually is a reward for big work, so while it might be temping to think that you can get paid big dollars for little work, you have to objectively consider the possibilities there.

Any offer that promises you a lot of work for a fee is likely not on the up and up. You shouldn’t have to pay to work. You shouldn’t have to pay for a job. Of course, some businesses (like businesses where you sell products as a consultant for a company) will require a small up-front investment. In that case, however, you are investing in your own business, not the business of others. You are investing to get the products you need to run your business and that is decidedly different than paying to get a job.

Ask questions. If you get vague answers, or your questions are ignored completely, that should set off a few warning bells with you. You should be able to dig up a street address for the company, the names of the relevant players in the company and you should be able to check the company’s history with the Better Business Bureau and other such agencies.

Don’t sign up for a job or to work with a company without talking to someone on the phone or person. Don’t settle for the information available on a website in the FAQs. Instead, make sure you can make contact with someone you can talk to one-on-one (not in email). If you can’t do that, you might want to look elsewhere.

If you do need to make an investment in product or materials (not for the job itself) use your credit card. Don’t write a check or use a debit card because those will be harder to get protection with. If you use a credit card, you get protection from the credit card company if things go wrong.

Do your research and understand the various risks and rewards of the company you are considering there are many bad deals out there and many scams, but if you do your research, you should be able to find the right opportunity for you.

How To Investigate A Business Opportunity

Thinking of starting your own business this year, but don't want to launch a business completely from scratch? Then consider a business opportunity often referred to as a turnkey business. With a business opportunity package you are purchasing a system of doing business that often comes with an instructional manual or a video. There are no royalties to pay but there are often no support or follow-up opportunities.

Business opportunity packages are greatly distinguished from franchises. With a franchise, you are getting involved in a long term relationship with a franchisee. You are purchasing their signage, logos, uniforms, and systems of doing business. There is no originality that you can bring to the business. You must support the proven franchised system of doing business.

There are fundamental differences between a business opportunity and a franchise. A franchised business is based on a proven method of doing business. Most often, franchised businesses are "look-a-like" businesses, meaning that signage, outfits, offerings, menu, vans, logos, etc. are identical. When you pay the franchise fee, you are purchasing the rights to use these clearly identified logos and business symbols from that particular franchise corporation.

In order to run the franchise, you must follow the rules and regulations as set forward by the franchisor. They will want you to attend training classes, perhaps attend an annual convention, and will want to make sure you keep up with their standards. According to the International Franchise Association, you are in business for yourself, but not buy yourself.

Many entrepreneurs like the idea of purchasing this proven system of doing business. The franchisor will even help pick the site and will help design the store, the restaurant or office center.

You will be required to pay royalties every year to keep your franchise operation. The royalty fees go to a national advertising fund and also to a general fund to keep the franchsor operating at a profit.

The Business Opportunity

When you purchase a "business opportunity" package you needn't answer to anyone. You are purchasing instructions or some materials to conduct this business, but you are not purchasing a set of rules and regulations that you must follow to the letter.

Often, business opportunity packages are called "turnkey operations." The theory is that all you have to do is to launch the business opportunity is buy the package, read the material, study the manual or video, "turn the key" and open your business. Some of these start-up business opportunity packages cost $100 or less. Others cost thousands of dollars. But there is one common denominator: the opportunity should be investigated. Remember, let the buyer beware. There are several ways to investigate a business opportunity.

. 1. Call telephone information for the city in which the company is based and ask for the number of the local Better Business Bureau (BBB). Call the BBB and ask if they have a "reliability report" filed on the company. This report provides information on the company and will include whether or not complaints have been filed on the company. It will also let you know how the company handled those complaints. Also try calling the National Fraud Information Center at 800-876-7060 and the Call for Action Hotline at 301-652-HELP.

. 2. Call the Chamber of Commerce in the town where the company is based. Just because the company might not be a member doesn't mean they aren't reputable. But ask the Chamber of Commerce if they know of any reason why someone shouldn't do business with them. It doesn't hurt to hear what the word of mouth is about a particular enterprise.

. 3. Call the Attorney General's office in your state--often located in the State Capitol's office. Also check with the Secretary of State's office to see if there are any complaints filed on the company or if there are investigations pending.

. 4. Where did you hear about the business opportunity? At a local trade show? Through an ad? If it's in an ad, call the magazine who carried the ad and ask to speak to the advertising department. Do they have information on the company? How long have they been in business? Do they pay their bills on time? Has the magazine or trade sponsor received any complaints about the company?

. 5. Use your judgment. As you study the ad, ask yourself, "can I figure out what the business opportunity is from this ad?" If not, then run in the other direction. They are trying to be evasive. If you can't contact the company and get more information on what it is you are sending money to receive, then don't send a dime. Remember the old line, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Not in every case, but in many.

. 6. Ask the company offering the business opportunity package if you can get a list of folks who invested in the package during the last two years. If they are legit, and if they are proud of what they are offering, they will be happy to put you in touch with their satisfied customers. If they won't do this, there very likely is something shady going on with that particular business opportunity program.

. 7. Companies that have a legitimate business opportunity package for you to look over--and we feature many of them in this magazine--should not be scared or dismayed if you want to receive some free additional information about the company before you invest in the program. This is a perfectly acceptable request.

. 8. The Federal Trade Commission offers a free package of information about the FTC Franchise and Business Opportunity Rule. Write to: Public Reference Branch, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20580 or call the FTC at 202-326-2222.

. 9. Use your instincts. If the opportunity doesn't sound or seem just right to you, stay away. Do some more research before you get involved with the company and follow tips one through 8 to conduct your due diligence investigation about the business and the specific opportunity.

. 10. Don't send money unless you completely understand what you are buying into, and even then, check it out before you send any money.

Business Grants and Loans - Meeting the Criteria

One of the best places to research the availability of business grants and loans is the Small Business Administration, an agency of the federal government with a mandate to help business, especially small business succeed. The Small Business Administration which has local offices in all major metropolitan areas has three different loan programs, each one designed to help various segments of the business market get access to business grants and loans.

They deliver these loans through their banking and other lending institutional partners and while they provide the money and information an individual business must apply directly to a lending institution to get business grants and loans. They suggest that you go to the meeting with the lenders well prepared, with a copy of a business plan, personal and business financial statements and projections, as well as any collateral that may be available to secure the financing.

The most popular form of business grants and loans made available through the Small Business Administration are called 7 (a) loans. These business loans are so named after the section in the Small Business Act that offers the provision of these loans. In order to be eligible for this type of business loan a business must have good character, quality management capabilities, and a good business plan. If a business meets this criteria it becomes eligible under the Act and then can apply to the bank, credit union or other lender for a business loan that is guaranteed by the Small Business Administration in the case of default or bankruptcy.

Applications for business loans and grants from the Small Business Administration are available on their website, from banks and other approved lenders, and from local Small Business Administration offices across the country. If you visit the local office an agent from the agency will be happy to provide you with information and assistance to applying for business grants and loans that are available under their auspices.

While the Small Business Administration does not have any monies to provide directly for business grants and loans they can direct businesses to a number of government agencies and departments that do provide this type of assistance. These include particular programs that offer business grants and loans to military veterans, persons with disabilities, minority groups, and special provisions for business activities related to disaster relief and faith based initiatives.

There are also special programs that offer business grants and loans to assist welfare recipients to get back into the workforce, improve the environment, and support the work of the military both at home and abroad. Many people like to work from home, and if you are interested in doing so you know that it is going to be very important that you find a place where you can spend your work day without feeling like you are still at home. There are lots of ways that you can have a home office. Some people are lucky enough to have an extra room that they can use for their home office, but most people do not have that luxury. If you don't have a home office, you might be able to still feel like you do, and still get as much done as you would be able to get done in a home office.

The first thing that you are going to need is the space. You want to be sure that you have enough space for your home office, and it might be that you have to make space. However, depending on what you want to be doing in your home office, you might not need that much room. If you are able to, you can even set up a desk or a tray table in a corner of the rec room or the living room, and work from there. Think about basements too, you might be able to work in your basement and it might end up being exactly what you are looking for.

Remember that an office space doesn't have to be huge, and it doesn't have to be the only place in your house that isn't used for anything else. There just has to be some way that you can distinguish when you are at your office from any other time. For instance, some people use a roll top desk in their dining room. When the desk is open and the computer is on, this means that it is work time. When they are done with work they can turn off the computer and close the desk, which means that the work day is over and they can stop worrying about it. This is something that many people use if they are doing their work in a room that is used for anything else. Remember that this is all something that you can do without making a big deal of it, or without worrying that you will be unable to do your work.

There are other things that you can do. Consider buying a room divider, which will turn any room in your house into two rooms. You can use one for your office and you will not have to worry about not having the space. You can also be able to do this so you don't have to worry about your home office being as neat as any other room in your house.

The only requirement is that you some how find a way to separate your home office from the other rooms in your house. This is something that you have to be sure that you do so that you can work successfully.

The SBA is an independent agency of the executive branch of the federal government, and the government is not in the habit of giving anything away. That includes loans, believe it or not! The SBA is a great resource for small businesses, and does act as a guarantor for one of three different loan programs that can be of use to the small business owner, but they themselves do not provide or arrange for the loans.

The three loans they act as guarantors for include the Seven-A (7a), the Five-O-Four (504) and the Seven-M (7m) or micro-loan as it is known. Details about these different loans which the SBA will guarantee and oversee compliance with for small businesses are not in the scope of this article.

What the SBA does in these types on situations is to help arrange financing through various lending partners including local banks and nonprofit corporations and to oversee compliance on the part of the small business with the loan terms, thus assuring to the lenders that the loan will be repaid.

* People are lining up to loan money to startup companies

Venture capitalists DO exist, and while in some cases they have been known to finance startup companies that is not what they principally do, nor would it be wise to do so. Since a venture capitalist entire purpose of investing into a company is to make money and more then half of the startup companies created every year go belly-up just leaving that money in the bank earning 5% would do a better job them financing startup companies hand-over fist.

Unless you have so much money that you don't need your business to succeed any 'freedom' you have will be going right out the window the moment you open your small business or shop! You may have a bit more flexibility in the scheduling of your free time, but starting a small business will definitely cut into that free time if you plan on making it a success.

* There are many write-offs you can take on things you otherwise can't write off

The IRS and the government do NOT give away money. Remember that - that is the reason for myth number one and two above, and unless you enjoy being audited it's never a good idea to write off any expenses not 100% related to your business endeavors even if they are used in relation to the business as well as your personal life. The best rule of thumb is to ask yourself whether or not you would still have this expense (say your car for instance) if you were not running the small business, and if so in any form or fashion then it is not a legitimate write-off.

Some common write-offs which are normally allowable include any computer and business software, rent, salaries and monies paid to independent contractors, advertising costs and even a percentage of vehicle costs if its use can be tied to the business in question. In some cases strict rules apply, such as whether you use the computer for personal use as well as business etc. so checking the law first is a good idea!

* The right business sells itself and doesn't need a marketing or business plan to succeed

This is very common now in the post 'dot-com' era, but remember folks there is a reason it's the "post" dot-com era and not the dot-com boom. There is simply no substitute for a valid business plan and understanding what is necessary to sell your product or service to the public. Anyone trying to tell you something otherwise is likely selling something he wants you to buy from him right now before you go broke and give up the idea of starting your own business! A related myth is that if you aren't getting a loan or looking for investors you don't really need a business plan. While business plans are necessary to get investors the purpose is not that but to ensure you understand what it will take to be successful, and that you have a linear outline for how to achieve those goals.

While most grant information rests at the Federal level, there are plenty of other sources of funding for a business startup out there. First, there are sound reasons for your local chamber of commerce and better business bureau to offer grants for businesses to start up – businesses employ people, and boosting the local job market is one of the important things your city government does. Even if your business just employs two part time shipping clerks, it still makes sense for your local business development center to host a grant program to help new businesses start out.

Many larger cities have programs like the one in Seattle, where for businesses that will employ more than 100 people, and will need new construction, can get grants for new construction if the buildings are Green, or LEED certified, minimizing construction waste and power usage.

Many grants are tied to non-profit organizations. You don't have to be a non-profit organization to benefit from such a grant; you can work with a local NPO to get the grant, under an agreement where they'll use your firm for goods and services – this represents a triple win for the underwriting grant agency. It helps a non profit organization work on a project that ameliorates a problem they've been assigned money to fix, it helps you, by giving your company contracts for work to be done, and it helps the community by allowing you to hire more people to get the job done. The local restrictions on this sort of partnership are varied and numerous, and it's worth it to talk to someone at the local city hall to see what can and cannot be done without conflict of interest or collusion complications.

The last place to dig for grants (or the first one in some situations) is a local trade organization. If you're in a field with a vital services niche, and it's going unmet, it's not unreasonable to get grants from a business organization to open the type of business they support; it helps bring their profession into a higher profile, or represents moving into an untapped market to them.

Clearly, moms that set up their businesses at home choose to be there to work in their most comfortable time, and of course to spend time with kids.

It is important to keep the home business a success. But how? With children demanding for mommy’s time, working time is compromised.

Here’s where time management comes in. It may be common to sneak work hours during the kid’s nap time and sleeping time but is it really enough?

Here are tips on how to manage time efficiently for the benefit of the moms, the kids, the house and their businesses.

1. Mom’s should identify activities that look like they’re important but they’re not. In other words, time-wasters. TV time or a little chit chat with fellow gal pals are a bit distracting but can be done at a more convenient time. These should be eliminated or be managed.

2. Keep a timer. It comes in handy when informing the child when playtime with mom is already available. It also helps in keeping track of finished tasks or if one wants to accomplish house chores or work faster.

3. Develop a routine for both household chore and business activity. Having a good one means smooth-sailing days ahead. Set limits as to which activities that can and cannot be done.

4. Make shopping and meal prep easy. Doing a scheduled monthly or weekly shopping will help save time and cash. Making sure that the list is complete saves a lot rather than making an extra trip to the store every time something is missing. One dish meals that requires the use of the crock pot is good.

5. Know the things that you need first before going online. This saves a lot of time rather than surfing aimlessly and go nowhere. If net searching is such a task, teenage children can be of use or plainly hire a virtual assistant.

6. Group like activities. If some of the papers need filing or some e-mails need to be responded to, allot time for it to prevent from switching from one task to another.

7. Scrutinize steps being employed to check if it is helping at all or not.

Handling business at home and juggling with kids is definitely stressful. It’s either the parents distract the kids to get some job done, or the kids distract the parents and make things a lot more difficult.

It is a challenge to keep the kids busy, specially if they are pretty young. The old tricks up on the sleeves sometimes won’t do any good. The home is itself a hard work for parents and balancing them really is tough. Children crave attention and that’s one thing that should be given to them, it is a need.

These are some tips to help make parents and kids take advantage out of each passing day while at home working.

1. Wake up earlier than the kids. This is the preparation hour, to assess the day ahead. A time for meditation and envision that the day will be great.
2. Enjoy wake-up moments with kids. It’s the time that kids will love kissing and snuggling with parents. It is a time for eating breakfast together. Presence counts at this young age they are in.
3. Keep them busy. Set a routine of fun things to do to keep them busy and inform them in advance about having to work.
4. Hire a sitter. Those that can afford a hired helper to attend to the kids at least a few times over the week can help give a moment of privacy to parents.
5. Work at flexible hours. Making goals, like working for 4-5 hours per day or while the kids are having their nap time or are blissfully playing.
6. Be flexible. Taking them outside allows them to be active while parents bring along their briefcases along to do some job done.
7. Give them tasks. Kids feel most important when they are playing “little assistants” to mom and dad. Stapling, clipping or cutting are tasks that they can manage to do. They will surely love to hear “thank you.”
8. Do some things after hours. Some of the private work can be done when kids are asleep. This will give an extra hour of peace and quiet.
9. Give them their needs at the moment. The choice to work home is the choice to be with kids. Be happy for the chance to give them a hug or a kiss.
10. Take pleasure in working and spending time with kids. The hard work is for them anyway.

It is important to give the children priority over business. Working home means the choice of spending more time with the family. It is a waste to be stressed out by business. Enjoy!

Working at home is one of the fastest growing trends in careers today. However, many people jump on the freelancer bandwagon without considering all of the drawbacks to working at home. While some people are naturally inclined to work at home, others find the transition more difficult to make. There are many benefits to working at home, but the drawbacks need to be considered before you make the choice.

The first drawback to looking for a work at home career is that your current career may not easily transfer to a work at home situation. If you work in the medical field or are a police officer, being a freelancer might not be an easy transition unless you are willing to change careers entirely. Sales and administrative positions transfer well, as do creative jobs like design and writing. For those in jobs that can’t make the work at home switch, you’ll have to think carefully about what you want to do when start working at home and start investigating that field.

Cost is another important factor in deciding if working at home is right for you. Although many mothers start working at home to save on childcare, there are added costs to being a freelancer. If you need health insurance, it will have to come out of your pocket instead of being paid by your employers. There are also many taxes that you will have to pay. Your record keeping must be excellent in order to keep track of your income and expenses, and to fill out your income tax return at the end of the year.

Working at home with children is not always as easy as it seems. If you have young children that aren’t in school yet, it may be difficult to work when they are awake. This can mean lots of busy naptimes and late nights to get your projects done when they are sleeping. Family members can help take care of your children from time to time, but the responsibility of both your children and your job will be firmly in your hands. Distractions like the television, Internet and housework can be hindrances to your work at home success.

Isolation is another problem for freelancers. Working at home alone can get frustrating and lonely. Make sure you are comfortable with spending time alone, and that you take steps to combat isolation. If you are especially prone to being depressed, then the isolation that comes with working at home may make you feel withdrawn and sad. Taking steps to combat loneliness is an important part of any freelancer’s success.

After considering these factors, you may decide that working at home is not right for you. However, thousands of people deal with these drawbacks and still have successful work at home careers. These reasons should not stop you from becoming a freelancer if that is really what you want to do. Just make sure you understand the realities of the work at home lifestyle before you commit to it.
