1. Be Committed It took me a couple of years to reach the point I’m at now. I could have given up any time before I got here and I had a million different reasons for doing so. But I knew what I wanted and stuck it out. That’s the first key to success.

2. Accept Challenges Being your own boss and owner of your own online business can be scary and a bit intimidating. It takes guts to leave a 9 to 5 job and start your own online empire.  It takes guts to have a dream and to go for it. You ultimately determine whether your business succeeds or fail.

3.         Be In Control. Keep your mind focused on important things. Set goals and priorities for what you want to do and accomplish. Develop a strategy for dealing with potential problems—and when those problems surface, feel confident in your ability to handle them. The worst you can do is fail.

4.         Don’t be too Critical

There is no use criticizing yourself once you’ve made a mistake. Saying “I should have landed that account or handled that situation differently” is not going to make any difference at all. It’s just going to drain you of your energy and discourage you. Simply learn from your mistakes and move on.

5. Practice Makes Perfect

And stop worrying about getting everything right. It’s not going to happen. If Time Warner can buy AOL, you can create a website that bleeds cash. Just keep trying.

6. Ask for Help

You want to work for yourself not by yourself. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. Don’t think you’re incompetent simply because you can’t do it all. Professionals hire other professionals to do the job properly. Don’t be afraid to bring in a specialist when you need it.

If I have to warn you that there’s nothing more important than getting the work/family balance right, then the chances are you’re going to learn the hard way. I went into this for the money. But there’s no question that the greatest benefit my business has given me is the extra free time I have to spend with my family. Your site has to have millions of page views to make money.

It doesn’t. Small sites with good conversion ratios can make more cash than large sites with lots of click-through traffic.
Ad revenue and affiliate revenue don’t make money.
It’s easy to make money: just put up a website and the money will roll in.

Today the Internet is much more than a simple document storage/retrieval system. It is a great vehicle for anyone who wants to setup an online business with little or no money and a want-it-now attitude.

I have a programming background but it was not my technical know-how that allowed me succeed in this area but my trials and errors as an online business owner.

I have tried many opportunities and techniques but it was through my failures I've learnt and consolidated a simple technique to succeed as an online business owner.

I can assure you that, although you will need to acquire some basic technical skills, your success will depend not on your programming or typing skills but more on what you have between your ears.

Below is my list of what you'll need and have to do, to succeed as an online business owner.

1. Have a dream and persistence. If you haven't got a dream and the persistence to follow it through then you will fail, guarantied.

2. Have a mentor. Find someone who has gained the experience in this field. Beg, crawl, wash their car, do whatever takes to become their student. Listen to their advice and learn from their failures and successes. You'll save yourself a lot of time, effort and money not to mention heartache and disappointment.

3. Find a hobby, a 'pet' project, something you are interested in and would do without payment or rewards. If it gets you excited, keeps you awake at nights thinking about it, it will provide you with opportunities to make money from it too. For example, once you have a project/activity that you live for, be it surfing, stamp collection, video games, mobile phones, you could start a local club. Once the club is established you can start a club website. Once the website is up and running you can introduce products to promote the club and your project/activity. You get the picture? You probably have seen the film 'Pay it forward'. Well, you can use the same principle in establishing an online business. Give something valuable first and then you'll get your opportunities to reap your rewards.

4. Promote and automate your project website. Once you completed step 3 above and your site is up and running you want to be able to promote your club site to 'outsiders'. You don't have to get technical and bogged down in programming or writing strings of HTML code. There are brilliant software out there to do a lot of 'skilled' tasks with the push of a button (both free and commercial products). Learn to use them well! Promoting your website should be your priority from now on. Get as many people to come to the site as you can and automate this activity. Start a newsletter to keep in touch with your members and provide them with free advice, tips and news on the subject of your project/activity. And again, automate this too. Get software to automatically distribute your newsletters and automatically sort any emails you get in reply to your posts. Set up autoresponders signup new members and to respond to email queries; automate, automate, automate...

5. Once you have enough members and you have an established, loyal group of followers, you can introduce your promotional products and other services that you now want to sell and make money from as a business. You'll have to be gentle and do this bit by bit. You may also find it useful to have another, separate, commercial site for this purpose and simply direct your members there from your 'signature files' or 'letterheads' you send out as part of your club newsletter. By now you should have enough experience in setting up and running a website from step 3 above. If you did have a separate commercial site you run a smaller risk of offending 'purist' club members.

6. Review the operation of your site, experiment and test the effect of site layout, content, headlines etc. Review and look for opportunities to further automate anything that you can to make your site 'self-sustaining'. If you do this you should be able to get yourself more free time to actually enjoy your hobby/project and to go out and look for more new material (advice, tips and news) that you can send out to you members. Once you have a website running and are making money out of it, it is very easy to forget that without new content and looking after your members your business will not survive. So make sure that the time you have freed up by automating your processes, you put back into searching for and providing fresh content and keep on provide a service to your members and keep in mind that they are members because they share your enthusiasm for the hobby and not for your business. Find a gentle balance between that hobby and your commercial interests.

If you know nothing about SEO try to find some basic information on Internet and optimize for easy keywords or hire some SEO company. The advantage of search engine optimization is the fact that you get the visitors who want to buy the goods (or services) which you offer. The disadvantage is the long time necessary for successful optimization.

3. Pay per click (PPC):
There are several search engines offering pay per click program. Advertiser choose the keyword and the bid. If the visitor search for this keyword, advertisements targeted for this keyword are displayed. If more advertisers select the same keyword the advertisements are sorted by the bid (except google AdWords, there the advertisement position depends on the bid and click rate). The big advantage of pay per click system is the fact that you can start your campaign during a few minutes.

You include a HTML code to your web site and each time somebody visits the site where the HTML code is placed a banner will be displayed and you get some credits (usually 1/2 - 1 credit depending on the exchange ratio). For each credit you "earn" your banner will be displayed on another banner exchange members page. This type of promotion is good for branding but it will increase your traffic just about 0,1 - 1 % only (depending on click rate of your banner) so always combine this method with another strategies.

5. Promotional coupon codes:
Everybody is happy for a free gift or some discount and a lot of online marketers take advantage of this fact. So why don't make your customers happy too? There are many promotional coupon code directories on Internet. Put your coupon code to most of these web sites. Try combination of promotional coupon codes strategy and affiliate marketing. Give away to your publishers promo codes or special affiliate link. If the visitor click this link he gets some discount, free gift, free shipping or another benefits.

PPC stands for Pay Per Click - a popular advertising technique on the Internet. Found on websites, advertising networks, and especially on search engines, PPC advertising involves sponsored links that are typically in the form of text ads. These are usually placed close to search results, where an advertiser pays a particular amount to visitors who click on these links or banners and land on the advertiser's web page.

In essence, PPC advertising is all about bidding for the top or leading position on search engine results and listings. Below are some important things to consider when planning on a pay per click campaign:

1. Know your product. Take an inventory of the product and/or services that you have to offer (before anything else).

2. Stay within the budget. Determine your daily or monthly budget; and stay with it. This means keeping your budget in mind, avoiding bidding wars if possible.

3. Bid just right. Know how to bid right - a bid that is too high can exhaust all of your money, while a bid that is too low can make you lose that spot.

4. Watch the bottom line. Measure your profit margin against your spending or expenses. Know when to stop and terminate your PPC program - if you spend more on advertising but have little or no sales at all.

5. Find the right keywords. Decide which keyword phrases to opt and bid for. Do some keyword research, either by actually looking at existing search terms or with the use of online keyword suggestion tools, to know which terms are mostly used when searching for items that are related to your business. With the advent of Google losing a court case (and a shed load of money) and the continued problem of click fraud the question is now on the tip of everyone’s tongue – “Is Google Adsense still the cash cow that it was?”.

In this article I’ll take a look at ways in which the average webmaster may still develop a successful Adsense business and how to use the up and coming Google witch hunt to your advantage.

There are currently two main problems that are facing Google, both of which are serious and could lead to the demise of both Adsense and Adwords.

The first and most serious problem is that of click fraud. For those of you who do not know click fraud is the act of clicking on your own (or a friends) ads in an attempt to generate artificial earnings.

This is such a problem for Google as it ensures that the value that Adwords purchasers gets is significantly less then they would want, thus ensuring that sooner or later they will just get up and walk away (with what remains of their advertising budget firmly clamped in their hand).

To remedy this problem Google have tried putting several rules in place such as not allowing the webmaster to show Adsense ads in auto surf sites (to name but one restriction).

The second problem that Google faces relates to content, notably the amount of original content which is out there.

The problem in this case is that many people have purchased article scraper software (software that you point at someone elses website and just shout ‘Fetch!’ – it then returns a document collection which is a complete rip off of the site).

This was already a problem before the advent of Adsense sites and with the continual chain of people chasing high value keywords it has become worse; It is now possible to search for a given phrase on Google and return nothing but duplicate content for the first few pages of search engine results.

In order to address this problem Google has been modifying it’s algorithm to effectively punish people with duplicate content, the extent to which an individual site is ‘penalized’ is currently a matter for debate.

So, given Google is about to launch a witch hunt looking for sites with nothing but duplicate content and for people performing click fraud what can you do?

After all there are so many people out there using site generation tools that Google can trace and/or document obfustication technology (you’ve seen the ads – “We can make your one original article into 300 and Google will never know!” – yep, and anyone who visits your site will just find drivel with spelling errors or contextual mistakes).

Step 1.
If you must use site generation software make sure you find one that leaves no trace behind itself, ask yourself – ‘If I was looking at the source code from the generated page how would I know that it’s machine generated?’

Step 2.
Don’t use site scraping tools, they're immoral and a waste of your time

Step 3.
Do include RSS feeds into your pages, they add fresh content with no effort on your part (at least one of the site generation tools now supports this kind of functionality)

Step 4.
Don’t click on your own adverts, Google will can you in the blink of an eye

Step 5.
Do get incoming links from established sites (in the same area as your niche content)

Summary.
If you are at all serious about creating an Adsense income you need more than one site and so it is inevitable that you will use site generation tools (because there aren’t enough hours in the day for you to create the amount of pages by hand), by all means use these tools but use them ethically.

When using site generation tools ensure that they allow you to add multiple blocks of Adsense /Clickbank /Ebay code to each page (it saves you a lot of time) and that it performs search engine optimization for you (both on page and off page).

You should also take the time to write some of your own original content – like this or perhaps pay a ghost writer to create a batch of articles for you (don’t forget to ad your bio box at the bottom of everything you write).

To answer the initial question, yes, it is still possible to make LOTS of money from Google – you just need to be careful.

This is rather easy to achieve on the Internet. In fact many people managed to profit from this system in the 1990's when Google introduced AdSense and AdWords.  Many people (Mainly stock traders at first), immediately saw the potential for arbitrage in Google's systems and started driving traffic through Adwords ads to high paying Adsense ads on their sites from that very same traffic they were buying through Adwords.  HOWEVER . . . .

 

Using this system, many people became rich overnight. But after maybe 6 months, Google figured out about what these "Ad Traders", were doing and decided to ban this technique from being used through their advertising systems. Now all systems that are similar to Google's Ad systems got savvy to the arbitrage techniques.

 

Therefore it is very difficult nowadays to get any low cost traffic to high paying niche ad sites either from search engines, AdWords or any other system, because the search engine’s and Online Ad Firm’s systems are now programmed to ferret out Ad Arbitrage!  But I stumbled upon an even more efficient way to use the Advertising Arbitrage technique, which is even easier and less complicated.

 

Bidvertiser.com is the website I will be using here in my examples. I chose bidvertiser.com because it was so easy to register with them, and they are not so fussy about paying directly to your PayPal account on time every month.  I suggest using webwire.com for press releases to get traffic to your site, though you may alternatively use PRweb.com - As well you can use Bidvertiser.com and AdSense on your website instead of just Bidvertiser.com, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are driving traffic to your site with Adwords.

 

First, we want to break down the system that has proven to work for many other people into its basic components:

 

1.     Attracting traffic

2.     Monetizing your websites

 

It's as simple as that. You are going to pay someone to help you attract traffic to your niche website, and then you are going to monetize your web pages so that the traffic generates more income than it cost to generate.

When you decided to start your business, was your first priority concerned with setting up your filing system for recording your expenses? I seriously doubt it. This simple task (yes it is simple) is usually the item that is the last thing on the new business owner’s mind. The more “important” issues of what product to sell, how am I going to advertise, how much money is it going to cost me, and how much money can I make are the first questions we consider when going into business.

The task of recordkeeping is usually procrastinated until the very last minute, when it is required. It is time to file your tax return, or time to go to the bank to get a loan for the business and the banker wants to see some financial records for the business. This can be a very daunting and cumbersome task if you have to dig through receipts and expenses for the whole year! No wonder we hate keeping records. That’s no fun!

Well, guess what? If you aren’t keeping good, timely, and up-to-date records monthly, you don’t need to be in business. That’s right. I said it. Here are the top five reasons why I truly believe this statement.

1. Lost tax deductions = Lost Money If you are throwing your receipts in a shoebox each month and not keeping an organized record of your income and expenses, I can bet you money that you are losing out on some major tax deductions. A smart businessperson keeps track of her income (cash in) and expenses (cash out) monthly, sometimes even weekly. You do not need a fancy accounting software package to do this. You don’t even need a computer! Simply keep a journal monthly and log in all of your receipts and invoices, and there you have it.

2. High CPA/Tax Preparer Fees = Lost Money I can speak from personal experience, that if you bring in that shoebox of receipts for the year and expect your tax preparer to record and properly deduct your business expenses on your tax return, you are sadly mistaken. Tax season is the busiest time of year for these professionals. If you expect them to do your bookkeeping and recordkeeping as well, expect to pay for it. They don’t have the time, or the desire to make sure that every receipt is accounted for. As a businessperson, it is your responsibility to make sure they are given the right totals and you can trace it right back to your tax return.

3. Too much time spent looking for receipts The time you spend looking for a past receipt for a particular purchase for whatever reason, you can be utilizing this time in advertising your business or producing your product. These are important money generating activities that you are sacrificing due to your lack of recordkeeping.

4. No financial statements Every business owner should review at least the profit and loss statement (income statement) for their business MONTHLY. This important piece of paper tells you if you are making money or losing money. How can you possibly run your business and make a profit if you are not analyzing your sales and expenses continuously? A good recordkeeping system will allow you to have this information at your fingertips.

5. No need for expensive accounting software If you are just starting your business, or are a small business owner, you more than likely do not need software to prepare your books. A simple journal that is kept monthly of your income and expenses is all you need. At a glance, you will know how your business performed for that particular month.

As a business owner, you need to realize the importance of a good recordkeeping system. This should also be a task that the business owner performs for at least three to six months before delegating the job to someone else. You will be able to run your business more effectively, determine possible cycles in the business year, and know where your money is going. Your business will be much more successful if you keep a simple recordkeeping system.

There are still a lot of people out there who do not understand article marketing, nor the role that directories play.

For those who are not finding success with articles, or for those considering starting out, here are a few ground rules that will save you a lot of work in the long run and will likely get your article marketing career off to a much more auspicious start.

Read the article directory's specific terms of service and guidelines. This may seem like a boring, tedious and long winded waste of your valuable time but in the long term it will save you hours of frustration and wasted effort. All directories set their own rules and some are stricter than others. Most directories labor under a huge number of submissions and the work of sifting through them is often the job of one individual. This means that if your opening paragraph or introductory statement is poorly written or contains mistakes, that is as far as the editor will go before hitting the delete key. The luxury of time to edit an author's mistakes or to decline an article as opposed to deleting it, is one that most editors do not have.

Mass submissions are usually viewed as spam. Let's face it, none of us are capable of writing over 200 articles in a day - I would say that even producing more than ten would be a pretty amazing feat of productivity. It should come as no surprise to those submitting large numbers of articles in a 24 hour period to find that they are all deleted. Article directory software usually allows for quick erasure of such submissions, so if you don't want your work to fall victim to mass deletion, don't mass submit. All that is needed is a little common sense. If you are using a submission service, set the option to stagger your submissions over a longer period of time.

Proof read your articles. If you don't know what this means, look it up! If your writing is riddled with spelling errors, poor structure, punctuation horrors and grammatical butchery, don't be surprised if none of them get published. I could write thousands of words on the most common mistakes seen in people's writing. These usually involve spelling and grammar. Spell check your articles, even if you think you're perfect, you will often be surprised at the mistakes you make. If you tend to misspell a word regularly, you will never correct it unless you make yourself aware of it.

If you are of the opinion that these things don't matter (after all, people will know what you mean!) then think again. If you want to write and, more importantly, see your work published and picked up by other website owners and bloggers, you need to demonstrate an ability to write well.

As an example, all the "SEO experts" who talk about search engine optimisation (sic) but don't even understand that being able to spell their claimed occupation correctly would lend a little more credibility to their claims. Just for the record, most words ending in "ize" use a "z" and not an "s". This is a very common mistake, but it would be corrected by the use of a spell checker, as would so many others.

If you want to write with authority, you have to be able to exhibit basic literacy. Yes, this is important and should be borne in mind by those who eulogize about "the Queen's English", thus making themselves look even more foolish than those they chastise. (a good example of a word that does actually end in “ise”) Regardless of who is on the throne, it is always "the King's English".

None of us are perfect and this is not a lecture on grammar and spelling, no matter how needed it might be.

If you are tempted to use PLR articles, even if you rewrite them in an attempt to make them unique, remember that you will be competing with all the other shortcut seekers who are doing the same thing. It's another shortcut to the delete key for a lot of directories.

When it comes to the resource box, it is quite amazing how many authors defeat their entire purpose by making a mess of this vital section. If the article directory in question allows one, two or three live Hyperlinks, make good use of them. Think about your anchor text very carefully. In other words don't say......to find out more click here and Hyperlink the words "click here". The resource box is where you need to give readers a compelling reason to visit your site(s) but it is also the one place you can make the most of good keywords as the anchor text in your links.

Use the resource box wisely and take full advantage of everything the directory is offering you by way of promotional tools. Adding your URL without making it a live link is a pointless waste of time if the directory allows you to use Hyperlinks in your resource box. Conversely, adding more than the quota of permitted links will probably result in deletion of your work.

Another thing to watch is linking directly to affiliate programs. Read the directory's policies on this point or again, you may well find yourself on the cutting room floor. Many directories will stipulate that you may only link to affiliate programs indirectly by referring readers to your own site or domain. Some do not allow straight redirect links either.

Relevancy is also an issue here too. In other words, submitting a PLR piece about gardening and linking to your MLM program is not very helpful or wise, just one more recipe for deletion.

I should finish by saying that yes, you can churn out badly written articles to your heart's content, just don't be surprised at the results.

Recession?  Seriously? 

Okay, fine.  The market is having some troubles.  What do you do?  Do you cower in fear, doubt, and uncertainly like the masses or do you…please forgive me for the cliché; do you make lemonade from lemons?

It’s true.  Right now we’re living in some pretty uncertain times financially speaking.  However, there’s always opportunity.  The online world is still thriving.  In fact, it’s growing.  The self help and home based business is booming!  The investment market is actually thriving – people are anxious to learn how to invest their money, protect their money, and still live the same quality of life they’re used to. 

Warren Buffet just invested 5 billion into Goldman Sachs.  Of course he had 5 billion to invest in the first place but this is a guy who isn’t casual with his money.  And he just invested 5 billion in what many would consider the most unstable sector in the world. 

Why?

He sees an opportunity.

It’s what successful entrepreneurs do.

Successful entrepreneurs are typically risk takers.  Not blind risk takers who jump into a pool of hungry sharks without looking first. 

Instead, they spend a bit of time evaluating the risk and then deciding whether it’s worth jumping in.  That doesn’t mean that every single light is green and it’s 100% okay to make the jump, or investment.  But it means they know what they’re getting into.  They understand the risks.

Along with understanding the risks, successful entrepreneurs understand, and look for, opportunity.

Think about Amazon, Paypal, and even the folks over at MySpace.  They saw a potential opportunity and took some very big risks – boy did they pay off. 

Despite what the mainstream media will have you believe – those opportunities are still available.  The only difference between five years ago and today is the collective consciousness – if the media is telling everyone that the economy is good and invest, invest, invest – the collective buys into it and boom – everyone and their brother are taking huge risks with the comfort that the financial guru they saw on CNN the other night said it was a good thing to do – the economy is great.

Now the same financial guru is telling everyone to buckle down.  Save money, don’t spend.  Hold tight to your investments.  Don’t take any risks. 

And the collective conscious believes it.  They hold tight to their money.

The result…missed opportunity.

Assuming you do your homework, analyze the market, and understand the risks – the risks are the same as it was 5 years ago.  The opportunities are the same.

What is required to recognize and take advantage of these opportunities?

A good attitude is a must.

A good attitude means you’ve established the desire to be wealthy.  Now that may sound very simplistic.  Everyone wants to be wealthy, right?  No, not really.  Some people are quite content at their current income level what ever it may be. 

And many of those who do desire great riches let other desires, beliefs and myths about money get in the way.  Napoleon Hill outlined six steps to achieving Desire as it relates to attaining wealth.  They are:

#1  Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire.  (This is very much part of the visualization and goal setting process and is critical to success)  At first you may think, “Oh okay, I want a million dollars.”  Then you’ll think, “No, this is a visualization exercise, right?  How about six million dollars?”  Then the doubts will start to enter your mind and you may drop down to $100,000.  The goal here is to let go of those limiting beliefs.  If you want six million then fix that amount in your mind. 

Perhaps you need to do a little bit of thinking, meditating, or even planning on how much money you want.  That’s fine.  Take your time.  It’s important that you’re comfortable with the number you’re seeking.

#2  Determine exactly what you are willing to give in return for the money you desire.  It’s the old you don’t get something for nothing philosophy.  This is actually a great way to help let go of your limiting beliefs about money particularly if they relate to money being inherently bad.  What would you do if you achieved the monetary goals you’ve set forth?  Will you donate a specific amount to charity each year?  Will you volunteer your time?  Will you employ people and offer a great salary and benefits package?  What are you willing to put out there?

#3  Establish a specific date for receiving or earning the money goal you’ve established.  Tomorrow, right?  You’d like that six million dollars tomorrow, please.  Okay, now step back and consider what may be more reasonable.  Not too reasonable mind you, you probably don’t want to set your goal 20 years in the future however 12 months isn’t unreasonable is it?  Neither is six months, or even three. 

#4  Carry out a plan to begin – Mr. Hill recommends taking action whether you are ready or not.  You can’t spend your life planning, it’ll just pass you by.  So how are you going to make this money?  What’s going to happen or change in your life to make it happen?  Are you going to write the next Harry Potter?  Are you going to develop a software product or game that sells out all over the world?  What skills, talents, and knowledge do you have, or you have access to, to make it happen? 

#5 & #6  Create a written statement for the first four actions described above and then read it aloud twice a day. Once when you’ve just woken up and once before you go to bed.

This process as it was laid out by Napoleon Hill in 1937 and supported by wealth coaches, personal coaches, professional coaches and mentors all around the world, may seem a bit simplistic at first glance.  However, upon implementing it you will see it has a very powerful effect on not only your attitude but your motivation as well. 

Visualization is a technique that successful people in all walks of life utilize to improve and to achieve their desired results.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a stay at home parent who aspires to build a six figure business or an Olympic athlete – visualization and establishing a desire to achieve are a necessary first step to real success and wealth. 

An economic downturn matters.  Of course it does.  However, where there’s the desire to succeed, where there’s openness to success, wealth, and the power of opportunity, there’s a real chance to profit – desire is the first step.

The Secret

 Aside from being a fun hobby, what is the point of having a blog? The answer is to draw readers. Whether you are selling advertising, a product, or just your own set of ideas, you want as large a readership as possible with most blogs. So if that is the case, then it is important to know how to draw readers to your blog. There are a number of ways to increase the readership of your blog. Here are four tips that will help you to increase your blog readership that are easy to do and will definitely pay off for you.

First of all, to increase readership you would want to increase the number of pages each reader is seeing. You don’t want to be judged only on your last post, but rather on the whole of your work. To that end, try highlighting related posts within your blog. At the end of an article, highlight posts that may be of interest to those who like the current post. Most blog platforms are fitted with plug-ins that will help you with this, but if they are not, then go ahead and at least list the links to other pages manually. Another similar idea is to highlight the related posts within the content of your post. If you are talking about a subject you have discussed before, link off of one of the keywords into the past post that is related. This will also help a past post to maintain its freshness.

A second tip for increasing your blog readership is to think about doing a series. A series is a great way to keep a reader coming back again and again. In addition, if you are linking back, you can get readers looking at multiple posts even after you are done with the series. Be careful when doing a series, because you do not want to frustrate readers. However, if you have a topic you genuinely think you should handle over a period of time, then a series can really help your overall readership. If you are curious as to whether or not a series is working for your blog, then check posts. See if readers are posting through the series to see if they are following you. If they are, then your series is a success and you are only helping your blog readership.

Another way to increase readership is a little more “controversial” if you will. You can try putting excerpts on the front page of your blog from certain posts. Many people claim it is just a way to get more hits on your site. The truth is that extra hits are a little side benefit of it, but the real value is that it can make your site more engaging. By adding excerpts to the front page you can manage the front and keep it fresh while also teasing those who get that far into reading more than just your most recent blog post. This will encourage a prospective reader to explore your blog site a little more than they may have normally. Again, you want to be judged by the whole of your work, or at least by a larger piece of your work than just one post and this will do that. If your writing is up to par, then, you will see a rise in your readership.

Finally, if you really want to build and increase readership, you have to have good quality content. It should be useful, original, and interesting to your target audience as well as keeping them wanting more of the same. The more you raise the quality of your blog’s content, the more you will see your membership, readership, and page hits go up without even having to use any other “tricks.” People know what they like and they like quality for the most part. Giving the readers what they are after is probably the best way possible to increase your blog readership.

Having a blog can not only be fun, but if you are doing it right it can also be profitable. Either way, though, you want to maintain and increase a following, or readership. There are as many tips out there to increase blog readership as there are blogs, but to really get things going, consider using these four tips. Follow them and you will see your readership grow.

The Internet is the modern “Gold Rush”. Seems that everyone on the Internet is promising you vast riches with little to no effort.  But are these outrageous claims true?   Can you make $5,250 is Guaranteed with no efforts?

<b>Step one:  Find Some Adventurous, Business-Minded Soul Mates.</b>
 
Get at least two companions (five is best!) who will walk with you enthusiastically, and build your business together.  Having a couple of friends with you on the journey helps to keep everyone sane, and it’s a built in safety net for keeping you from investing in crazy schemes that would never tempt you during a moment of sanity.  Friends can also cheer you on through the necessary slogging at the beginning, and then they’re there to celebrate your success at the end.

<b>Step Two: Create Your “Cash Machine” </b>

There’s an old adage that says, “It takes money to make money” and, unfortunately, it’s true – mostly.  Therefore, according to Loral Langemeier, the Author of the excellent book “Making Millionaires” – first you have to learn how to run a business that makes money.  You don’t have to enjoy it, but it does have to make money – even just a little, and fast!  You use this first step to teach you how an Internet business works and to develop the right suite of tools and knowledge to gain a solid foundation.

<b>Step Three: Build Multiple Streams of Income</b>

When your first business is up and running, don't simply burn through the money.  Use half of the profits to advertise, and half of your profits to invest in the next business(es).  Keep building until you have a solid core of different businesses running under you.  This brings stability.  If you're wise, you will also be carefully investing in businesses that will give you great tools for running and advertising your businesses, as well as investing in courses that train you in the various areas of online marketing:  traffic, copywriting, list building, etc.  You must learn to use your profits wisely as even stable companies can sometimes go under.

<b>Step Four: Automate it. </b>

It is possible to run a completely functional business on 2-3 hours a day – or less – by simply automating the more routine activities.  Again, there’s nothing like the Internet for providing automated systems.

<b>Step Five: Develop Your Passion </b>

If you have a website about a topic you enjoy, you can make money from discussion forums. Talk, post links to your site, get traffic. Traffic means money, right? If not, try different affiliate programs or Google Adwords. The worst sites should get a couple cents per visitor. Now here's how to talk and make money.

Search "forum" plus the topic of your site on Google or Alta Vista. For my first site, I searched "backpacking + forum" and in the pages of results I found several good forums. I also searched related topics like "hiking" too. You can also check about.com, and other sites that have forums on many topics.

Registration is usually giving your email address and choosing a password. Some forums allow guests to post without registering. Once registered, browse the forum topics, and post a response to anything, just to "learn the ropes".

Income From Discussion Forums

The point of posting in forums is to get readers to come to your web site. Sure it's fun to give advice and discuss things of interest to you, but that's secondary. With that in mind, do the following:

1. Always link to your site. If they don't allow any links, find another forum.

2. Don't "spam." Sales pitches will be removed. Offer honest advice, or express an opinion, then sign off with your name and the link to your site.

3. Ask for help from others. This is an effective and acceptable way to "advertise." Enter a topic like "Can I get some advice?" and post something like, "I just started a meditation site. If some of you would visit and tell me what you think, I'd really appreciate it." Have a link to the site. People love to help, and to give  opinions, and they'll click on those ads while they're at your site.

4. Look at total "views." Many forums show the total times each "thread" has been viewed. When you see some with many more than others, get in on those, or start a new thread on the same topic. Go where the traffic is, and get some of it.

I didn't like the idea of forums until I made a few posts, and saw my traffic and revenue climb for days afterwards. That convinced me. Just be polite, offer some value to others, and always have a link to your site. Many other secrets of using forums are covered in my newsletter, but this should be get you started. In the hustle and bustle of a fast lifestyle, people seem to forget the different methods that make individuals successful. For some people, they just lose the perspective to apply the different success methods. When people lose focus and tend to view the small details as part of their success pattern, then the goal loses its value. That is why it is important not to forget the different personal concepts that govern wealth creation.

Having a Wealthy View

Financial abundance and wealth creation is a real and tangible idea. But there is a critical condition to it. In order to grasp the ideas of wealth creation, one must take the view of the rich and the wealthy. To have a wealthy view is to have the mindset of a millionaire.

Wealth creating mindset sees the world in a different light. That fundamental principle allows successful people to adapt to different problems while finding fresh methods to attack the blocks that hinders them from achieving their financial goals. They find optimism when an ordinary optimist says no. They also find encouragement in defeats. Most importantly, they find opportunities when it is most invisible. The key to create wealth is therefore to master personal concepts to develop a wealthy perspective.

Where most people find nothing, wealth creation entails finding value in things. However, the most successful wealth creators not only find value. Instead, they create it! In order to create or increase one’s value, wealth creators increase their own individual value first. Wealth creators realize that in order to succeed, one must always exceed even their own expectations. An adaptive mindset that creates value wherever he goes will find himself very important element in a successful enterprise. .

Wealth creation also entails seizing opportunities. In leadership terms, we call it initiative. Individually, we can call it being proactive. A proactive person finds things to do when others see it as free time. They do not wait for opportunities to bite them. Instead, they come biting at opportunities. Once you become a proactive person, you will suddenly find that opportunities come at you at a much faster rate, giving you way to create more wealth.

If you do not follow your passion, wealth creation is not fun. Wealth creation is hard enough of a process. If you feel that these activities are routine and boring, you will be gasping for air before you get halfway there. The most successful people will usually tell you that they love what they are doing. They will even go far as saying that they will do the things that they love even though they won’t get paid for it. Once we find our passion, everything becomes easy and you will be on the top of the wealth creation chain in no time.

Saving is involved in wealth creation, and that means foregoing what we can spend now for later. While the concept of “delayed gratification” seems easy, only a few people can heartily apply it. Delaying gratification allows us to see into the future and believe that there is a better value for happiness if you save gratification. With the savings compounded over time, wealth is created. Removing instant gratification from our habits will ensure that money always goes wherever they need to go.

Finally, creating wealth involves moving forward. Improving oneself in every aspect and knowing that are different ways to be a better person is a mindset that will help people in the long run. As they say, Rome is not built in a day. We must learn to account each small action and find ways to improve ourselves.

Wealth Creation is not an exercise or a method. Instead, it is a revamp of your current lifestyle to a life that produces a sense of accomplishment. There are 2 ways to learn enough about online businesses to become successful.  You have to either spend years, or even decades in some cases trying to learn it all yourself from experience (also mighty expensive) or, you can find people who are already successful and learn what they do and how they do it.   In this article, I will show you how to start learning from others to get the experience you need to be successful in your online business.

Your best bet is to find several successful online business owners that are doing things similar to what you want to do (or are already doing).  Visit their websites often and subscribe to their email lists and see how they handle their business. Pay attention to how they send emails and how they sell products. Although this doesn't really give an accurate picture of what's going on behind the scenes with this persons business, some aspects do seep through the emails and you will be surprised at what you learn.

If you have the budget, I recommend buying some of their products if possible or joining their network marketing company if that's what you're learning about.  This allows you to learn how they treat new members, how they handle customer service and what kind of follow-up techniques they use.

Successful people have many things in common. Learn to take advantage of this. Don't just track one person, buy one person's products, subscribe to one email list and learn from one person. Subscribe to 5 to 10 lists and buy from the ones you are really interested in learning more about.

Over time you will start to build a real picture of what it takes to be successful. You'll begin to understand what decisions they make, how they act, how they react, how they present their products and more. The more you know about multiple successful people, the brighter and more obvious pattern of success you'll begin to see and be able to follow, and you will also be more able to avoid the false indicators along the way.

Start now by looking for 5 to 10 successful people in your online business field of interest, subscribe to their lists and just watch. Soon you will understand why certain ads work, why they write in the style they do, what they do to get people to take action, who they work with, and who they avoid.

If you have followed through on all the steps I showed you in the first section of this book, you should now have a pretty impressive home page to look at.

 

While I am sure you probably have plenty of ideas for some more tweets to post, now would be a good time to take a closer look at your home page to understand what the various parts can tell you.

 

Underneath your username, you will have your location and bio.  You will also be able to see a link to your website or blog.  And underneath that you will notice there are three things listed one after the other.  Each one has a number underneath it that you can click on too.  Let’s look at these in a bit more depth.

 

 

FOLLOWING

 

 

These are all the people you are following on Twitter.  If you click on that number you will get a complete list of them to view.  You can click on this number on other people’s home pages too – which is a big clue to how you can find lots of relevant people to follow!

 

 

FOLLOWERS

 

 

These are all the people who are following you.  Once again, clicking on the number brings up a list of them all.  You can review this from time to time to see whether anyone is following you that you are not following in return.  You don’t have to follow everyone… but reciprocity is a nice thing.

 

 

UPDATES

 

‘Updates’ basically refers to how many tweets you have posted on your Twitter account.  Every new message you write and publish will push this figure up by one.

 

Some people celebrate milestones as they reach them.  You might occasionally see someone announcing their 100^th or even 1000^th tweet and beyond.  If you do this, it’s a nice idea to thank your followers for inspiring you to keep tweeting!

 

If you click on this figure, it will take you into a page which lists all your own tweets.  And of course, anyone else visiting your home page will be able to see these too.

 

 

@USERNAME

 

 

This used to be the ‘replies’ tab, but the team at Twitter have changed it so you can now see every single tweet on the site which has your username in it.

 

This is actually more beneficial because there may be occasions when people do not actually reply to you, but they do mention you in one of their own tweets.  You can see whether you are making a name for yourself or not.

 

But the main reason to be interested in this tab is because Twitter users can reply to tweets that other users have made.  Let’s say for example that you went ahead and published the tweet which said “Made $357 in affiliate sales today – will share more info in future tweets.”

 

Someone may have read that and been very interested in what you had to say.  So they look to the right hand side of your message and see two things – a star symbol (which lets them favorite that tweet if they wish) and a curved arrow symbol, which if they click on it will let them reply to you.

 

Their reply will appear on their home page and in their own timeline, and it will still be visible to be read by everyone else.  But it will also appear in your @username tab, which is why it is worthwhile to check this page every now and then to see whether anyone has any questions for you.  Engaging in conversation with other users is one sure way to build up more followers as well, as we will find out later on.

 

And let’s face it, if you aren’t going to interact with anyone on a regular basis, you won’t achieve the results you are looking for.

 

 

DIRECT MESSAGES

 

 

This is a neat feature of Twitter that allows you some security and privacy, should you need it.

 

Basically there may be times when you want to ask another member something that you don’t want the world as a whole to see.  The best example of this is if you were looking for someone to provide a service. 

 

Let’s say you wanted to find a designer to create that unique background for your Twitter home page.  You may have started following a few people who could possibly provide that service for you.  In this case you might want to send a direct message to one of them, asking if they could do it and if so, how much for.

 

They can then reply directly back to you in the same manner.  This would mean you could actually exchange email addresses without letting the whole of Twitter know what they are!  This is quite a common practice, so it’s good to know what direct messages are there for.

 

And once again, make sure you check your messages from time to time, just as you check your @username tab.  Incidentally on your settings page under the notices tab, you can elect to receive emails whenever someone starts following you, or sends you a direct message.  I recommend you tick this, unless your followers start coming in lorry loads at a time.  It means that you are less likely to miss any important DMs, as direct messages are often referred to.

 

It is also a nice gesture to send someone a direct message if they have started following you.  This is easy if you get a steady stream of followers.  But if they start arriving en masse you may need to try out a third party (and usually free) software solution that allows you to send direct messages to a number of people at once.

 

For my money, auto DMing is less preferable to the personal touch however.

 

 

FAVORITES

 

 

One of the great things about Twitter is the number of resources you can glean from it.  A good example of this are links to other websites which may prove useful.

 

Writers often post links to websites and blogs they think other writers will like.  Internet marketers do the same for their comrades.  So do moms, freelancers, self employed people, businessmen… and so on.  Everyone you can think of has interests and most of the dedicated users on Twitter actually like to share them.

 

But of course once you start following a lot of people and your own tweets start appearing in the public timeline as well, it can be very difficult to keep track of the tweets you like.

 

That’s why we have favorites.  Remember a while back I mentioned those two symbols you will see next to every single tweet posted by another person?  There is the arrow for responding directly to a tweet, and there is a star.  If you click on that star it will turn yellow, and it will also go onto your favorites’ page.  So the next time you need to refer to that particular tweet, or you want to retrieve that web address, you can go to your favorites page to do it.

 

It’s much easier than going through all your old tweets to find it!

Okay, so you have gone to http://twitter.com and signed up for your free Twitter account.  That is the easy bit, and it should only take a few moments to complete the process.

 

The first thing you need to think of when you sign up is what username you are going to use.  This could depend on how long your own name is, as you only have a limited number of characters to use.  Your username will then form part of your own unique home page address, i.e. http://twitter.com/username.

 

And of course you don’t need to use your own name either.  You could use your business name if you wish.

 

The next step is to go through the five step process I am about to share with you.  Now I know you are probably itching to start ‘tweeting’ – the term that is given to sending messages through Twitter – but it is essential that you make sure you get your account sorted out properly first.

 

As you become more and more familiar with the site, you will be able to spot those people who have jumped in without completing all the steps I am going to show you.  And there is one word for what their home pages look like – unprofessional.  It can’t be a coincidence that most of these people have either (a) tweeted a few times and then disappeared entirely, or (b) made sure all their messages are of a marketing kind.

 

There is nothing wrong with marketing on Twitter, but if you are going to heavily promote everything you have to sell, don’t expect to get many followers or much success.  You’ll find out why as we go along.  Incidentally all of these steps can be done by clicking on the ‘settings’ option at the top of your home page once you are logged in.

 

So let’s get started with the first step, shall we?

 

 

FILLING OUT YOUR BIO

 

 

Twitter is all about brevity.  And when you only have 140 characters to use to create each new message, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to find that your bio only consists of one line as well.

 

But it isn’t much of a problem – provided you write it in the right way.  You need to think about it from a certain angle to make sure you have a successful bio that draws people in.  In other words, a good bio will get you more followers.

 

One good method to get ideas for your own bio is to have a look at what some other members have already done.  Type a word into the search box – any word will do for the purpose of this example – and take a look at the results you get back.  Click on a username and you will be taken into their home page, which will have their bio in the top right hand corner, underneath their little photo.

 

Which ones really get your attention?  The best ones are generally those which describe the person and what they do without going into sales mode.  Your bio is not the place for trying to sell people something.  It is a place to introduce yourself, and nothing more.

 

You will no doubt also notice that some people don’t bother to fill in their bios at all.  This is a BIG no no.  If your bio is not filled in, people only really have your tweets to go on to decide whether you will be worth following or not.  And if they aren’t interested in the latest few they read, you could easily lose a potential follower there.

 

So how do you write a great one line bio?

 

The trick is to think about what you do, and what you are on Twitter for.  And above all, think in keywords.  Remember that you haven’t got much room to make an impression.  Let’s suppose you started off like this:

 

“Hi I am Dave and I’m from Texas in the US.  I love internet marketing and...”

 

And at that point you probably have very few other characters left to make anything out of.  More than half of the words in that piece are superfluous – ‘am’, ‘and’ and ‘from’, for example.  It’s not essential to tell everyone your name as your username will appear in the top right hand corner of the page anyway.  And the same goes for your location, which you should fill in separately on your profile.

 

So let’s go back to keywords.  Remember that your Twitter home page can show up on Google’s search pages, so you want to think about what pages you want to appear on.  Twitter’s own search facility can help people find you as well, so be sure to include all the relevant words you can.

 

The trick here is to get a balance between writing a proper sentence, and simply putting a string of keywords down.  So an internet marketer who writes their own series of eBooks - as well as doing some affiliate marketing on the side – might come up with something like this:

 

“Internet and affiliate marketer; writer and promoter of eBooks.”

 

You could go a bit longer than that, but for the purpose of the example do you see how effective a short phrase like that can be?  It isn’t a proper sentence as such, but it is packed with keywords and it manages to tell people 4 things that the person does.

 

So take time over your bio – it is a very important part of your home page.  You’ll be able to fill it in using the account tab in your settings.

 

 

WHY YOU SHOULDN’T PROTECT YOUR UPDATES

 

 

I just want to mention this because if you are going to use Twitter to help promote your business, you shouldn’t protect your updates. 

 

An update is basically a message that you post to your home page.  If you protect it (which can be done by ticking the appropriate box on your profile page), it means no one who visits your home page will be able to see your updates... unless you accept them as a follower.

 

So basically they have to send you a message asking if they can see them, and if you say yes, they will be able to.  What a crazy way of doing things!  This is really only suitable for people who want to Twitter with friends and family.  It’s great under those circumstances, but it’s not so good if you are trying to use Twitter to enhance your business and promotional efforts.

 

The other point to bear in mind is that if they can’t see what you are tweeting about, all they have to go on is your one line bio.  That’s pretty much it.  You are preventing people from seeing your tweets if they look up tweets on a certain subject as well, so you won’t get anywhere near as many followers by doing this.

 

The bottom line is, make sure you don’t protect your updates.

 

 

UPLOADING YOUR PICTURE

 

 

Okay, so once you have filled out your bio, it’s time to sort your picture out.  You have three main choices to go for here:

 

• You can use a real photo of yourself
• You can use a character or cartoon picture of yourself
• You can use a logo or other picture that is relevant to your business

 

 

The fourth option – which I haven’t listed above as I feel very strongly against it – is to leave the default picture in place.  This looks like two zeroes separated by a line.  In short, it is called a default picture for a reason; it’s up to you to change it!

 

Some people think that only a real photo is good enough on Twitter, if you want to be taken seriously.  I disagree.  There are some terrific people on Twitter who quite rightly use their business logo, or perhaps the logo of their main website or blog.  Character or cartoon pictures can also work very well in some cases; presumably cartoonists wouldn’t dream of choosing anything else. 

 

In short, choose what you feel comfortable with.  The two main rules are to make sure you replace that default image with something better, and to ensure that it is clear and of good quality.

 

 

DESIGNING YOUR PAGE

 

 

Look for the design tab in your settings section.  At the time of writing you have a dozen themes to choose.  These are basically your backgrounds.

 

But you can also upload your own background if you wish – and this is by far the best choice to make.  It will enable you to stand out as an individual, as no one else will have the same one.

 

There are sites which provide templates for you to change and alter as you see fit, or you can design something yourself.  Some Twitter users have even created backgrounds for other people on the site!  You will notice that some have made sure their website address and additional marketing information is included within the background… which is the primary reason why you should think about doing this yourself.

 

There are some points you should be aware of here though.  The most important one is to be aware of the limitations that are in place.  Take a look at your home page for a moment and you will see what I mean.  The main section of your home page – the bit with all the tweets and your information on it – is enclosed in a specific portion of the page, in the center.

 

This means your background design essentially wraps around it.  So if you opt for a central design, you aren’t going to see it.  Instead, think of creating two columns – one either side of the central part of the page.  You may need to experiment with the dimensions as well, to make sure your design can easily be seen by other people when they visit your page.

 

Surf around Twitter for a while and have a look at some other home pages whose owners have tried to do this.  You can see what happens if the dimensions are wrong; you might only be able to see the first half of someone’s email address or website address.  Needless to say that doesn’t help when it comes to enabling people to get in touch with you!

 

This all depends on the resolution of your monitor – and of the monitors of everyone who views your home page.  But you can tweak what you make to ensure that everyone can see it properly.

 

 

START TWEETING!

 

 

Okay, so if you have completed all the above steps you should now have a home page which looks pretty good.  All that remains now is to start tweeting, so you have some worthwhile content on it to attract the attention of anyone who finds your page.

 

Most of the time, the first tweet anyone makes is something along the lines of ‘figuring out how to use Twitter’!  Don’t feel you have to stick to this however – it’s become a little boring in many cases.  Take the opportunity to tell people what you are going to be tweeting about in the future.  Bear in mind that it is going to take a while to build up a backlog of tweets for people to read, so you need to try and make sure you give them something to look forward to.

 

Our fictitious internet marketer could start something like this:

 

“Building my brand new affiliate website – details soon!”

 

“Made $357 in affiliate sales today – will share more info in future tweets.”

                                                                        

 

Do you see how these make people want to read more?  They also contain good keywords – and we will explore how to make sure you can benefit from those in a later section.

 

The key is really to remember why you joined Twitter in the first place.  Don’t just tweet about anything and everything – make sure you stay on topic as much as you can.  If your reason for joining was to share your knowledge about internet marketing in the hope of selling some eBooks about that subject, bear that in mind at all times.  You want to create traffic to your website or blog as well, no doubt.  So think about the type of people who will enjoy your site and work at getting their attention.

 

In short, you should always think before you tweet.  Don’t post messages just for the sake of it; some users post dozens every day, and that can be a bit overwhelming.  I remember following one person once who looked like they could be worth keeping in touch with... but within a couple of days I got overwhelmed by the sheer volume of messages they were sending.

 

Needless to say I ended up un-following them just as fast!

 

You don’t need to post every day if you don’t want to or can’t manage it.  A lot of people post first thing in the morning or whenever they sit down at their computer to start work.  You will probably fall into a pattern of your own as you settle into the familiarity of having a Twitter account.

 

One final tip before we close this section of the book; take a look at your one line bio before you tweet each time, at least to begin with.  It is a good way of keeping yourself on track to post worthwhile tweets that people will find interesting.

Do you sell products online?  Whether you run an online retail store or if you sell on eBay, internet marketing should be a component of your business plan.  When you market your products, you increase your earnings potential.

In terms of internet marketing, there are many successful approaches.  These approaches include article directories, purchasing advertisements, banner exchanges, and search engine optimization.  Yes, you should implement each of these steps, but also examine unconventional approaches, such as Twitter.

Twitter is a social networking website.  When you register for a free account, you can search for other users.  You can then become a follower.  This means that you will receive their messages, also known as updates or Tweets.  Many will do the same for you.  Search for contacts on the Twitter website based on name, location, or email address.  Also, exchange contact information on online communities, like internet forums.

As previously stated, Twitter is a social networking website.  All types of posts are allowed, but many expect social messages online, not advertisements.  This does not mean that you cannot use Twitter as an internet marketing tool.  It means that you must take the clever approach.  As for how you can do so:

Ask for feedback.  With an advertisement, your Tweet may say “Buy eco-friendly products at affordable prices.”  Yes, this may work, but you will find some individuals who think “great, another advertisement.”  So, instead ask for feedback.  Provide a link and ask your followers to review the product in question.  Do they think it can help the environment, is the price affordable?

Offer promotional codes.  Even if you use affiliate links to generate income, you should be provided with moneysaving promotional codes.  Offer these to your members.  For example, your Tweet could include the message “Eco-friendly products available for sale with a moneysaving discount for all my Twitter friends.”  Yes, this is still an advertisement, but you are offering an incentive.

Host contests and Tweet about them.  A great way to generate traffic to a website, including a website where products are sold, is to offer something free.  Whether it be a free sample or a contest, people love free stuff.  Instead of advertising a product you have for sale, highlight a contest on your website.  This will get people to your online store.  To increase sales, have your contest landing page filled with products.

Incorporate personal messages into your advertisements.  As previously stated, the use of promotional codes is a great way to not only increase your sales and website traffic, but to generate interest.  Instead of just staying “Save $25 with a promotional code provided by me,” incorporate a personal message.  Mention you are extending the offer to your Twitter friends because you want to help them save money.  This extra personal message goes a long way.

Use @replies.  Mentioning the products you sell is okay to do on Twitter, but be limited in your messages.  Do not send 10 messages a day highlighting the products you sell.  Instead, try one a day.  Also, rely on the use of @replies.  You can reply to those who send you updates or use Search.Twitter.com.  Only reply with a clever advertisements when the situation calls for it.

The key to using Twitter as an internet marketing tool is to do so cleverly.  Internet users tend to sway away from advertisements, so make yours advertisements in disguise.
